gogol center

not so long ago, the gogol center, a cultural center based on the theatre, was closed. 

this poster series refers to the theatrical performances that took place there this year and a quote by andrei voznesensky from «lament for two unborn poems».

for me, the gogol center is famous not just for plays, but for posters. for me, «forbidden theatre», «hamlet» and «a midsummer night’s dream» by peter bankov made for the gogol center are definitely poster icons and probably an important part of poster culture.
